Integrity First Educators, Inc. (I.F.E.) was founded in 1986 as The Medical-Legal Group, Inc. With a staff of 55 registered nurses, TMLG handled a modest number of cases involving medical malpractice. TMLG staff always felt that greater oversight and training should be provided to nurses involved in civil and criminal litigation. At that time attorneys thought of nurses involved in medical malpractice as extensions of their paralegals. TMLG was elated when the AALNC was formed. For the first time nurses involved in litigation were recognized as distinct from paralegals, and a subspecialty of nursing. Since that time TMLG diversified its training activities to include certification in intravenous therapy, boot camp for nurse managers, and various risk management activities. The name was officially changed in 2007 to depict more diversification. Integrity First Educator’s Legal Nurse Consultant Course has been approved by the District of Columbia Board of Nursing for 62 continuing education contact hours (6.2 CEUs). In developing our Legal Nurse Consultant Course to be both convenient and affordable, we omitted the travel, hotel expenses, high fees, and much of the cramming offered by similar courses. We have found that these “add-on” expenses are not germane to acquiring the knowledge and tools that make a legal nurse consultant successful. Whether your desire is to start your own medical legal consultant firm, work for insurance companies, government agencies, law firms, or a wide variety of other venues, this is the course that will adequately prepare you. We wish you well as you embark on this wonderful journey that so many nurses across the country have found enriching and tremendously rewarding. |
